Among the major causes defended by Minuit, which the government tried to stifle, was La Question (February 1958) by Henri Alleg, journalist and member of the Algerian Communist Party. This denunciation of torture placed the debate in the political sphere. It was published in the ‘Documents’ series managed by Pierre Vidal-Naquet.
