On the subject of French colonisation, Le Seuil published Justice pour le Maroc by Robert Barrat (1953) and Contre la torture by Pierre-Henri Simon (1957), an authentic publishing event.  Le Seuil’s engagement was also manifest in literary publications, with several books by Kateb Yacine, and Mouloud Feraoun who was murdered in March 1962 by members of the OAS (a secret army organisation, in favour of French Algeria), as well as Mohamed Dib
